I Need To Buy A Lottery Ticket

    Because clearly?

    Today is my lucky day.

The insurance adjuster just came out to look at the roof.  We had a hailstorm three weeks ago and were hopeful that we had enough damage to replace the 15 year old roof.

    His decision?

    The roof is totalled.

    So are the gutters.

    And the air conditioning unit!

    People!

    This is very big news!

I shall now twirl through the house in excitement and then start perusing roofing materials.

    I love hail.

Is it not sad that, as we age, things such as new roofs and rain gutters excite us so? :)

That happened to us after a glorious windstorm a couple years back. New roof and new fence. Loved it!

You are so lucky! I need a good hail storm too because I need a new roof. We found out ours is the original roof and has just been patched (my house is over 100 years old!)

Wish we could get lucky. We need a new deck, were hoping all the snow over the winter would have collapsed it, no luck, we're still waiting. Glad for you guys!!

I'm guessing you don't like the $500 to $1,000 deductible, though? I guess it beats paying for it all yourself, huh?

I heard that Sherri's roof, gutters and skylight were all totalled too. I'm having someone look at ours, but I'm not so sure if I'll get the same outcome. However, it would be silly not to. I did see one person on my street have their roof replaced last week.

    Crazy Nebraska weather!

That's so weird. Last night I dreamed I got a new house because mine got 'totaled' by an ocean tide. Keep in mind I live 45 minutes inland.

That must have been some hail storm! Now, if someone told me all that stuff was destroyed I wouldn't be thinking it was lucky haha

Whoa! How big was that hail? I want some hail. Although in this country the system probably works differently and we'd get nothing.

we are waiting to hear about ours. i am hoping we have the same outcome. we weren't here for the storm or maybe we would have realized how bad it was and gotten on the matter sooner. or not.
